Getting Plenty of Sleep Can Help Prevent Weight Gain

Uncategorized Apr 11, 2021

Sleeping a full 8 hours every night isn't going to result in weight loss by itself but it can help your body from gaining unwanted pounds. When you don't get enough sleep your body produces a hormone called ghrelin  and that is a hormone designed to boost appetite.  Your body also decreases the production of leptin, a hormone that tells you that you are full.  When we put both of these together it can cause an increase in poor habits like late night snacking and uncontrolled portion control.

There are so many benefits to getting plenty of rest and putting a preventative measure in place to keep these hormones in check can make a difference!
